It seems to be incrementing at slightly higher rate than my own (hence the childish challenge to myself – you have to have someone to benchmark.).

Don’t be dispared, Michael, I did not work for Oracle either. Without blogging, Manoj Ranaweera would still be a unknown entity. I am yet to make any impact. However, I am more popular than before I started blogging. Hopefully, this will help us to get more clients. Using the blog to build trust is my key objective right now.

I still have no clue who reads my blog or whether I have a regular readership.

I use the paid, hosted version of GoDaddy quick blog. (I don’t think it’s much different than the free version, the big difference being alloted bandwidth and disk space.) It has lots of stats, but the ones I find most useful are hidden in the last statistics tab under “article views”. My last 6 days are: 188 126 142 164 127 112 and I’m at 132 so far today. Not quite at your level, but that’s the price I pay for having never worked at Oracle I guess. ;-)

I haven’t figured out how to track RSS views, but I don’t have many RSS users … apparently CNet is right in a recent blog entry when they state that apparently 90% of blog readers don’t know about RSS. Think that’ll be my non-sourcing Saturday post.

]]> By: Dave Stephens http://stephensnexus.com/2006/08/26/1-month-from-launch/#comment-1182 Wed, 30 Aug 2006 15:34:07 +0000 https://procurement.wordpress.com/2006/08/26/1-month-from-launch/#comment-1182 wordpress has some built-in reporting. last few days are representatirve – from 8/21 to yesterday: 314, 176, 157, 149, 152, 74 (sat), 81 (sun), 153, 164, and today is a partial. separately there’s the RSS readers, who come in over the same period as: 76, 81, 63, 74, 91, 23 (sat), 52 (sun), 53, 78, 44. not sure what this all means & very hard to tie this to unique visitors – just sure it’s lower. not sure how much this all matters to most readers though.. so how about you guys weight in on budget-based procurement, encumbrance acct, etc.. btw, as for whether tagging becomes one big mess as chaos reigns supreme it’s a valid question – and i would imagine there has to be some sort of trash collector system that eventually does some pruning to keep things under control.

How did you calculate/retrieve those blog stats? I recently compared the Technorati ranking of Dave’s blog to five other blogs, including mine, in response to Doug’s post over at Vendor Management (found here: http://hudgeon.wordpress.com/2006/08/20/assessing-the-value-of-a-blog/ ) and based on those rankings, and where I sit vs how many unique article views I get a day, I’d guess Dave is much closer to 100, and probably over that, on your average day – but I never figured out how to pull unique readership stats.

AC, the blogsphere is allowing individuals to emerge as mini brands. Blog stats indicates that Dave’s blog is read by about 50 to 100 people a day. Technorati does not recognise Dave as a tag yet

Dennis Howlett is another guy who is tagged. The problem arise when there are more than one with the same name. Fortunately, there are very few Manoj Ranaweera’s than Dave Stephens (perhaps). I am not sure whether I am tagged yet. Better check Technorati!

Perhaps the admins of the project get such information? If not, having a download link from the company’s website that redirects to sourceforge would probably provide some insight? Like coupa. However, it wouldn’t cover the entire list of downloads as people may directly download from sourceforge.

Now if only Dave can share those stats :)
